Barolo Ravera is een wijn die even diepgaand en uiterst complex is als evenwichtig en elegant. De aroma's zijn kruidig, met florale tonen, rood en zwart fruit en tabak. In de mond zijn de zuren altijd levendig, terwijl de body diep is, met een dichte, aanhoudende maar fluweelzachte tanninetextuur.
The 2013 Barolo Ravera offers a more linear and precise interpretation from Réva. The quality of fruit is focused and sharp. The aromas are slightly evolved with dried fruit and dark spice. A near or medium-term drinking window would make the most sense. I'm not sure this wine will improve much in the long term because it already feels a bit tired at this early stage. It ages in large oak casks for 30 months.
A kaleidoscope of spices and forest-floor aromas, vibrant acidity and silky tannins. Superb structure and a finish marked by the return of cigar box and plum notes. Stylistic rigour and measured use of long macerations and large wood make this an instant classic.
