Prima Pietra Toscana Rosso 2017

The 2017 Prima Pietra is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot from the sun-kissed Tuscan coast. This is an inky dark wine with a rich appearance and plenty of warm-vintage intensity. The bouquet offers blackberry, dark cherry, spice, leather and some tangy licorice root. There is a lot of aromatic intensity; however, the mouthfeel is rather lean and measured.

Dark bright garnet. Somewhat restrained on the nose, opens after aeration showing rich cherries and ripe plums, a whisper of rumtopf, fine wood spice, notes of marzipan. Currently still very young on the palate, grippy, firm tannin, juicy fruit, exciting, should definitely be given more time.
