A young vigneron who has returned to his family’s roots, Stefano Occhetti is currently the only producer making a separate bottling from Roero’s Sanche cru. The predominantly sandy site boasts a warm south-to-southwest exposure. It wafts with compelling raspberry, rose and strawberry blossom. Lovely fruit depth is accompanied by chalky tannins tugging around the edges. The oak is seamless and unobtrusive in this finessed, midweight Nebbiolo.
